"Boron was studied in other parts of the world with pronounced success for fluoride detoxification. Borox, which contains boron, has a history of anecdotal success for detoxifying sodium fluoride. Yes, this is the borox you can find in the laundry aisles of some supermarkets. It needs to be taken in with pure water in small quantities.

As little as 1/32 of a teaspoon to 1/4 of a teaspoon in one liter of water consumed in small quantities throughout the day is what has been demonstrated as safe and effective. Around 1/8 of a teaspoon with a pinch of pure sea salt in a liter consumed in small quantities daily has been reported to have dramatic results. There is the possibility of a food grade version with sodium borate, if you can find it."

There are people reporting that they are getting rid of the fluoride and calcium in their pineal gland and sleeping much better. I've never heard of using borax in your water to get rid of the fluoride. Sodium fluoride is very dangerous, but did you know that there are HUNDREDS of different chemicals under the name "sodium fluoride"? Scary.

I was using reverse osmosis water, but--unless you have a very expensive RO system--it will probably only get rid of about 30% of the fluoride if you're lucky. Distilled is better, but you will need a mineral supplement like blackstrap molasses.

Has anyone here used borax for a fluoride detox? LD50 of borax is similar to table salt. (LD50 of fluoride comes close to that of arsenic.) Is the use of borax voodoo science?

Some people are not wildly enthused with using ant/roach poison for detoxing their bodies.

There are supplements that that use boron citrate, boron glycinate, boron aspartate, or other forms of boron at appropriate doses.

Iodine can also be used instead of boron.

I am currently using some homeopathic remedies to get rid of metals, etc...

One specifically is Calc. Fluor - to aid in processing calcium fluoride...  They are so much safer as long as you are able to work with someone who is good at determining what remedy and dose you need...

I don't have access to a good homeopath...

C, do you think these other boron salts would suffice equally to the borax? From a basic chemistry stand point, it would, no?

LD50 of borax is pretty similar to table salt.

but you do have access to Dr D s excellent formulas

read all about Trehalose

Lola, I really appreciate the info--but what does autophagy have to do with fluoride?

it eats away whatever sticks, which is unwanted, so to speak.... :)

I could be wrong, but I don't think autophagy has much to do with removal of minerals or free ions like fluoride. Autophagy is simply the body's process of scavenging for proteins, food, when in starvation mode. This can be a good thing and trehalose is very interesting, but I don't think it's a "cure all".

Well, I see that Dr. D uses boron glycinate in his mineral supplement. I wonder if that will suffice...

I've got white spots on my front teeth. :-/

Here is a list of practitioners in WA that are in IfHI...  There are a couple in the Seattle area that may be able to help you...

I am surprised more people aren't commenting on this thread. This is a big problem. Everyone is exposed.

guess we are all busy following our guidelines and living according to our BT/GTs

Dr D has factored all into each plan and has given us the tools to work our issues favorably

I thought that autophagy was a cure all - possibly the aspect of starvation-level diets that slow aging.  If autophagy is powerful enough to offset macronutritional starvation, it must be a very good cleanser indeed.

So trehalose deals with fluoride? You know this is a fact?

Do you live in a fluoridated community, Possum?

Sadly yes & heavily chlorinated (you can smell it & some days it is stronger than others- but I am lucky I can get water from a local underground spring...

Incidentally I am interested in  things like borax too (& appreciate your comments) I recently started using it to wash clothes with (very low allergenic)

I think just because the comment was made that "Some people are not wildly enthused with using ant/roach poison for detoxing their bodies" doesn't discredit it as a mineral... Borax might be able to be used as a poison but that doesn't make it A RAT POISON ;) Just like Epsom salts being able to be used as a laxative, doesn't make it only a laxative & a therefore a bad thing ??) ;)

How unfortunate. I thought NZ wasn't fluoridated.

I am a fan of minerals the way that nature intended. This includes iodine.

I have been learning a little about ionic minerals though. Don't know enough yet to have an opinion.

I wouldn't take Borox/Borax, but I have used it to kill fleas that I tracked in after looking at a foreclosure.

I have come to the conclusion that if fluoride was a true problem, and not something that accents real problems in the body, then Dr. D'Adamo would directly address it for the people it affects.

There is just no way anyone short of world class micro/organic/bio-biologist is going to really out think the bodily functions beyond Dr. D. We can run around in circles asking questions about things that our bodies naturally take care of for the most part, instead of addressing how to make our bodies do so; which is exactly what all this work is generated to do.

If you haven't listened to his latest lecture, you should. I wouldn't claim per say that autophagy is an answer to everything; but the concept is not just contained within this one action of the body, yet is addressed by all the work (of Dr. D.).
