Is it a fact or fiction that people that drink coffee will deplete their minerals  ??)

Which ones ?
What can we do to protect ourselves if this is indeed true ?
Thanks very much :)

Lisalea, I have no qualms about drinking one espresso with sugar and cream once a day.  That is the one time I have sugar during the day so I don't beat myself up about it.  I do have tea other times of the day, no sugar.  As for minerals I do take magnesium, calcium, zinc, dandelion and sometimes copper.

I don't think one cup of coffee a day is going to do any damage as long as your meals are healthy, which I know must be since you're part of this forum.  :)

The only problem is that LisaLea doesn't know her secretor status, and she has so much problem with her digestion, she could very well be a nonnie.  If so, an occasional coffee with sugar and cream would not be as safe as it is for a secretor.

Thank-u for ur opinion New Hampshire Girl ;D
The real problem is that that's NOT the only sugar I eat daily and BTW I put a tablespoon of sugar in my latte 'cause I like it sweet
;)
I  also have a tablespoon of honey daily and on most days also a tablespoon of molasses and that's NOT counting when I eat sweets on occassion:'(
however; YES, I really am eating lots of veggies and fruits and dairy, proteins and lots of beneficials and neutrals DAILY as well ... I think it's all about balance ...however; I also plan to become more compliant in time, at least those r my intentions.

U could very well be right ... I'm gonna try to drink it every other day and then slowly hopefully wean myself off it ESPECIALLY if that's the culprit.

That's a good idea, LisaLea.  Here's my idea, too.  Why don't you cut out the sugar and use real maple syrup or maple sugar instead.  It is neutral even if you are a nonnie.

Let me do that !!
I'll be going to the grocery store tomorrow to pick some up !!
Thanks for  "that" bright idea  ;)

Btw; Would u happen to know what a tablespoon of white sugar translates in real maple syrup or maple sugar ??

I would just have to guess that the amounts are comparable.  For the last couple of years of my Cafe Latte drinking, I only ever used maple sugar or syrup.  It's much better than sugar, anyway.  Why bother with the "white poison"?  !!

LisaLea,
You can probably get real maple syrup in any grocery store nowdays.  If you have a good hfs, you should be able to take your own jar and buy it in bulk, saving yourself $$.

Same with maple sugar.  It will probably only be sold in the natural food stores.  There is only one in our city that sells it in bulk.  It is considerably cheaper than buying it packaged.  At any price, though, it was worth it to me to be able to get away from sugar.

I've heard white sugar is grouped in with poisons in some countries.  :o :o

I will go to a couple health places near my home tomorrow and hopefully find exactly what I'm looking for at a descent price ;D ;)
Thanks

CLICK

And I believe that in the Health Library Series, we will find sugar to be an infrequent neutral, at best.  That's like . . what ? . . once a month?
