I found a direct conflict in 3 of Dr D'Adamo's books and am just looking for a clariifcation. I read Eat Right 4 Your Blood type (copyright 199 , Cook Right 4 Your Blood Type (copyright 2000) and the pocket pamphlet of Eat Right 4 Your Blood Type (copyright 2002) and would like clarification on an incongruity amongst them. Cook Right book has Grouper on the Type A beneficial fish list but the Eat Right book and pocket pamphlet have Grouper under the avoid fish list. Totally opposite inconsistency. Anybody know if it is just a publishing/editing mistake or what? I emailed him at his website and he said he wouldn't answer the question. Said he couldn't answer "specific" questions. Suggested I register at this forum to find an answer. Seems very "fishy" to me that the author won't take responsbility for his book and own up to the mistake or provide an answer. |

Dr D is a very busy man; if he spent his time answering questions that are readily available with a quick websearch, he'd never have time to do any new research or see any patients! I believe he's currently working on a second textbook, which will help train a lot more medical professionals in individualized nutrition. According to the typebase, http://www.dadamo.com/typebase4/depictor5.pl?184 grouper is an avoid for A secretors and neutral for A non-secretors. If you don't know your secretor status, then follow the secretor values. In this particular case, my guess is that the change in value is due to newer research he did after the first book was published. Other food values have changed because he didn't include the secretor variations in the first book, and the book is all "compromise" values. In general, if you find a discrepancy, go with the most recently published food list. The 2002 pocket pamphlet trumps the 1999 book. The iphone app is the most up-to-date list, and the online typebase is the second most updated list (and the most up-to-date free list.) |

When the Secretor rating says something is good for you - monitor to make sure that the food does not cause a noticeable negative effect. |

Since an e-mail from a medical professional to an individual "could" be considered individual medical advice, no Dr. (author or not) can do this without putting their license at risk. |
