Has anyone else had experience with your cranial joints moving after being on this diet?
Some background… When I was about 7 years old, I had a fall of about 8 feet and landed on my head. Once I woke up, I felt sore, but OK and as such, Mom didn’t see any reason to go to the doctor, although she did monitor me closely and saw that I didn’t go overboard on activity for several days.
Sometime later, I realized that I had a depression that ran sideways across the top of my head at the cranial joint above the ears. Since it didn’t bother me, I figured so what, but since being on the GTD for over 2 years now, the joint has been painful for about 6 to 9 months now and I have been having some regular bouts (they happen regularly) of intermittent (sometimes less than an hour up to several days) issues with ear (congestion, heavy wax discharge, and ringing), sinus (pressure and clear mucus discharge), dizziness, and pain at different parts of the head (sinus, joint area, internal between ears, and the base). Now I realize that the cranial joint seems to be moving as the ridge is getting less prominent.
I am really impressed by how deeply this diet seems to be healing my body.
Has anyone else had a similar experience? If so, how long did it take for the process to complete? I would be very interested to hear your experiences…
ABJoe, I'm so glad you brought this up. I see an osteopath who does sacral cranial adjustments and for the past year while following my SWAMI, everything in my head seems to either jam up out of nowhere and I need to see my osteo for a release and then it takes a few days to feel the movement....I have the exact same issues with my ears...pressure, stuffiness...not discharge but congestion that drives me crazy....THe more compliant I am, like when I take supplements like Deflect twice a day and Polyflora with Live Cell A....or eat lots of soy and foods that would have powerful effects for a blood type A, my cranial joints move...Sometimes they're tighter...other times looser...and I've never been so sensitive to weather changes, especially low pressure systems...My head jams up in low pressure systems.
For the past two weeks, after an osteopathic adjustment, I was absolutely at my wits end...but today after a good night's sleep, I woke up with less "crammage"....Don't laugh...that's the word I used to describe it as if everything gets crammed together in my head.
It comes and goes....
I might have days where I think my whole head is going to explode...and it's not a headache...
I did have a few accidents that related to my head...One was when I was in my 20s and got catapulted from a wave in the ocean onto the beach...landed upside down with my head smashed into the sand...A few years ago, I got hit from behind by a truck while driving...Even though I saw it coming in my rear view mirror, and braced myself, there was trauma that went deeply into my neck and back muscles..which might have caused more crammage in my head.
OMG...I can't even believe another person has mentioned this....Maybe there are more of us than we know.
When I started the diet, I had severe sciatica from my spine shifting badly after my rear ended car accident....It seems as if it worked itself out completely but moved higher and now is all in my head.
Osteopath does understand what I'm explaining, and each time I see him,he has adjusted me to where I leave his office in a better place. But I do keep on shifting.
I have a feeling this is going to take more time. Healing is happening on a really deep level, I'm quite sure. Even my thoughts are different since I'm on this diet. Less uptight....more relaxed... and sometimes "letting go" affects all the muscles in the body...and head.

no .. yours is dramatic..
but for me pain all over has diminished greatly .. first by no stomach pains from dairy 35 years ago.. then by eating meat 20 years ago I kept my whatever health I had, and then BTD since the beginning and most other circular pain issues from painkillers and the like have also gone away .. the only headaches I still get are caffeine related, but I figured out how to keep them away.
Inflammation is the mayor issue in illness and if you can keep that to a minimum then the body can heal..
In truth I did other things to, chiro, acupuncture, weightlifting, walking, massage (www.ONDAMED.net) and finally localized PROLO therapy (www.getprolo.com).. today I am pain free for 3 years.. after 63 years of consciously being in pain.. that is a good thing..
p/s I dont count even recurring headaches nor gumm issues as real pain.. my muscles shiften in my neck from whiplash yes I have it but minute pain from it now a days.. better adherence (understanding all foor affects better) will help me get better every day..
one question I have .. do you think is eyesight better? the same? or getting age rleated worse..
so goods luck to you..
When I see other peoples medicines schedule-I am happy to be here taking care of my health I only wish to drop weight more easily-life would be perfectionBeing 'here' creates understanding. BTD prevents damage from eating avoids. Thanks Dr D & your sups - all support and friendships
I sure don't doubt it. Comparing photos of myself a dozen years ago to the way I look now, my body shape and posture have been really rearranged. My weight is optimal now, which helps a lot, but it is more than that. The structural framework of the body seems to be shifting as the tendons and ligaments get more healthy.

I just remembered something that might be similiar.
A few years ago, my daughter (then a teenager) passed out and fell onto her face, impacting the bone at the top of the nose. It healed pretty quickly and left her with a smaller passage to breath through on one side of the nose.
After 1 1/2 years on the Genotype Diet, she started complaining about that part of her nose bothering her, really obsessing on it because it felt strange. Recently she told me that it seems to be opening up and healing. She said she can feel things moving in her skull and forehead.

I have had glasses twice, for a year each time. The first time was about 11 years old due to double-vision, the second was when I was in college and reading so much due to fatigue. The double-vision was fixed with eye exercises and the fatigued eyes worked itself out when I graduated and didn't need to read chapters per day...
The last time I was at the Eye doctor was due to sawdust being blown around my safety glasses into my eye when I was cutting plywood. There was significant irritation and I decided to go verify that I had it all cleaned out and it was OK... At that visit, the Dr. tested my eyes at 20/15 - better than normal.
I have had some short-term blurriness during this cranial joint transition business, but it hasn't been bad or long-term enough for me to be concerned about. I have gotten pretty complacent about symptoms during high detox periods - understanding that my body is better off now than it has been for most of my life and it will do what is best for itself as long as I continue to feed it what it needs.

I'm gonna use that... Explains it very succinctly...
The only other thing I have sometimes is little lightning storms in my head. Sometimes they are just tingles, like a nerve blockage is getting opened up, but the other day it was like half of the inter-cranial comm. center was trying to be re-wired and the technician forgot to power down the grid... I really wished I had slept through that one... Not really painful, but really uncomfortable...

I know that feeling too... I had stitches in the side of my nose and it feels like some of the air passage is blocked. About a week ago, it was really sore in the bone and the passage opened up a bit...
I also think it is great that you can see differences in your posture... I always had good posture, unless I didn't have the energy to stand up...
I thought there must be others who had suffered head injuries, etc. that were experiencing this... Glad to hear that I'm not the only one having "fun" with this. It is great that we are able to share common experiences and have so many positive ones.

This reminds me of the sensations during the Tomatis therapy for my Dyslexia: stress, but not pain in the central part of my brain and a feeling of something stiff that was being opened to relieve tension.
Poor posture is one symptom of Dyslexia (and other related learning disabilities) and was corrected during my therapy. The control of muscle tension, body image, and the sense of your posture is connected to the neurology of the ear. Sounds like the cranial movement is correlated with healing in your ears, since they are encased in bone!
Deep healing indeed!
Have you noticed improved hand-eye co-ordination? Or more acute hearing?
My weight loss goal: 220 lbs. A 6'4" dyslexic oddball: the size of a line-backer, the silhouette of Winnie-the-Pooh.
I've had many injuries to my body!! Mostly due to auto accidents, and one a biclycle accident.
As I read the OP, I recalled falling from the second story of the house that we were living in, when I was around 7 or 8. Fell straight down!! I was out cold for a few minutes, but nothing broken and no residual pain, so they didn't take me to the doctor about it.
Never experienced any problems from it that I could tell, but I never had good posture.
From 13 on, I have been in several accidents. I have been suffering from neck and back pain for years, and then my knees (from the accident at 13) began to start bothering me about 5 years ago.
The knee pains went away very shortly after starting BTD. My back is hardly ever bothering me now since being on BTD and exercising. My neck had been feeling better, but has been bothering me a lot recently. I'm so excited to read this thread!! Looking forward to everything healing up in my body!!!

Dr. Nash at Dr. D's office practices CranioSacral Therapy (from the website). http://www.dadamo.com/clinic/craniosacral.htm I also have a friend who completed her first class and recommended...
I am just finishing it up. Fabulous, not too technical read-- a lot of it fits in with other modalities. Good amount of individual stories.
I am fearfully and wonderfully made.

At the moment, my hand-eye coordination is different. I find that I have a hard time typing due to lack of synchronization, whether it was off for many years, now getting more in synch, or in synch and now out? All I know is that it is really frustrating to have to rewrite all of my posts because the letters are out of order... Hearing - I still have a lot of ringing in my ears, but once in a while it goes away for a brief period and I can hear more normally.
The biggest factor with ears I think, is the balance. I have quite a bit of nausea and equilibrium issues that I am attributing to changing cranial pressures... I really hope this gets better soon.
Thanks, Tom for the chiro suggestion. I have seen a chiro since I was about 11 or 12, and have used one that specifically does Cranial adjustments...
I also just read in another thread about bodytalk. I looked around their website (http://www.bodytalksystem.com/videos/) and learned about balancing the Cortices, which really seems to have relieved many of the cranial electrical storms. I like finding self-help processes to aid my conditions...
AKArtlover - I just read the links you provided. I'll have to look into this more. Thanks!

Well, I just had an CranioSacral session today and it was awesome. I am breathing better than I have ever in my life. I didn't even know this was an issue. I am breathing, I feel, like I was born to.Much deeper, fuller. Something opened up in my airflow in my head, maybe my lungs too. I am taking awesome deep breaths. WOW.
Go oxygen!
Released some muscle trauma from falling on my butt twice last month. AMAZING.
Other things too profound to explain on a forum. Not sure I have the words to even explain it to anyone.
Finished the book over dinner and praised God for the knowledge and the healing.
Fabulous!

This is pretty interesting stuff I must say. My cranial joint doesn't bother me but other parts are acting up. A little over a year ago I was in a car wreck and messed up my upper body, especially my arms. Since starting the gtd what I thought had healed seems to be acting up again, lots of popping of joints and muscles and ligaments and stuff along with aching and pain. I never felt I healed right after the wreck, things just got usable and all the bruising went away. I can only hope the diet is rearranging things the way they are supposed to be. Thanks for posting about this as if I mentioned this to anyone I know they would surely have me committed.

From what I'm feeling, I think you can rest assured that the body is healing thoroughly now... My Chiropractor is in awe at the progress that I'm making. He makes a comment every time I see him, that he can tell the difference even in my posture and carriage. If he hadn't treated me for many years and seen me go downhill, then turn around and get back to where I am, I'm sure he wouldn't believe it either...
I have continued self-treating using the Cortices treatment from the bodytalk website - referenced in a post above. It has really helped my head and upper spine. My practitioner found me slightly dehydrated of spinal fluid at the last visit. I needed some homeopathic spinal drops to correct it... The healing continues.
Being a Massage Therapist for over 11 years now and practicing Cranial Sacral Therapy and Body Talk along with other therapies I just wish I would've been able to know about the BTD sooner. I actually believe that my clients would need me less and be able to do more self care ( which is the way I believe it should be) if they were following their BTD/GTD.
As for the feelings you are having in your head... it is such an A blood type thing to be sensitive enough to actually feel those energetic shifts. Cranial shifts are ever so slight. I too have felt shifting along my occiput, it's less compressed that it used to be. I hit it pretty hard on a cement floor when I was about 10.
Something to also pay attention to is... When you lay down and close your eyes do you ever feel like you are flipping backwards, sideways, frontwards... this is what is called "unwinding" in Cranial Sacral Therapy. I have had more and more of this as I have been following my BTD/GTD.
Very exciting that our bodies are able to heal on many level.
AB Joe - I too have 20/15 vision! My night vision is almost cat like! lol Cortices will help quite a bit. I would highly recommend going to see a Body Talk Practitioner for a more indepth treatment. You'd really enjoy the process. It's the best energy therapy out there. Good for you for all the work you've done to heal yourself as much as you have. Fantastic!!!
Wow, I didn't know they had a term for the "flipping". I just thought it was there to make me really nauseous... I have been "unwinding" quite often recently...
I watched all of the videos on the bodytalk website and am very interested...

This is the first time I've heard anyone talk about this, I thought I was just weird. As a child I would lay down at night, close my eyes and spin sideways, 360.
“Tomorrow is the most important thing in life. Comes into us at midnight very clean. It’s perfect when it arrives and it puts itself in our hands. It hopes we’ve learned something from yesterday.”
Unwinding is quite common. That's not fun that it makes you nauseous ABJoe. I have noticed that it's only really my AB and A clients that feel "unwinding" whereas O's and B's aren't as sensitive to energies of things. Lucky them!
There are things connected with Body Talk that just get a bit too weird. But generally I've found that BodyTalk is such an amazing way to shift the body quickly and effectively. I've done BodyTalk sessions and have seen such a huge shift in my client, more than if I had done 100 massages or 100 cranial sacral sessions. It finds the bodies highest priority to fix and gives you a mathematical combination of things that are all connected that need to be balanced out. Than with tapping, holding, breathing... huge shifts!
But yes, you're not nuts if you feel yourself flipping or twisting while you are laying there with your eyes closed. I've felt this ever since I was a child too. It got less during the times when I was sick and unhealthy. Now that I'm doing my GTD I do a lot of unwinding on and off when I lay down to sleep at night.
I didn't realize it had been almost two years since I updated this thread...
The cranial plate joints across the top of the head are still sore, but now the all of them around the back of the head and at the base of the skull/top of the neck are all sore as well. I know there is still garbage removal and healing happening although I can't really feel any movement happening for the last month or so.
I have been having tingling around the whole back of the head quite often in the morning for about 3 hours each day when it happens. It is best to not be very active when this is happening or I get some real exciting, but rather undesirable flashes...
Most of the major dizzyness has abated. When the cranial movements were really active, I would have to walk the wall to go anywhere... Now I only seem to get light headed or dizzy when I exert myself too much for a bit. It is like a concussion symptom, which is probably telling me I shouldn't be doing that much work/movement...
I still have times when my ears plug up, either 1 or both, and they still vary in the frequency and intensity of ringing.
My TMJ gets pulled out of joint sometimes. This creates a very intense headache and the teeth don't fit right when biting down. Unfortunately, it isn't always easily released. Sometimes I have to rub the joints for several hours and take a natural muscle relaxant to be able to adjust it...
I've been having a lot of pain recently. Some of it at the base of the skull, some of it at the base of the neck / shoulder area and some in the low back / sciatica region. I'm sure that with all this pain, something has to be happening - hopefully for the better.
