As I was reading another thread, I realized that I no longer have a certain symptom. So, I thought I'd enumerate the positive results! I Started on Jan. 13, 2010, because my health had gone downhill so much over the past 5 years from a change in career, which left me chained to the computer, with stressful deadlines that forced me to stay there for 10-12 hours per day.
1. No more joint pain!! The biggest change!! What a diff in the quality of my life!! It makes me feel younger and move like I'm younger!! Less trips to the chiro!!
2. Weight loss. 16 lbs. to this date.
3. No more dry-scratchy feeling in my eyes when I wake up.
4. I had something that felt like restless leg syndrome when I was lying down trying to fall asleep. I could feel my one leg kind of twitchy. That stopped early on.
5. Hacking cough drastically reduced. Actually, even with a cold, I don't have that cough at all today. In the past, it seemed like I always had some mucous in my lungs that made me cough.
6. Rarely clear my throat now. That was a constant thing in the past, which grew worse over the years.
7. More peaceful mood.
8. Stronger from having returned to regular exercise. When I read how important it was for Os, I bought an elliptical so that I could get some cardio. I had walked for years and never felt much benefit from it. When I rode my bike, I always wanted to ride it really hard, so that my heart would pound. I loved that feeling. So, I really bore witness to intense exercise being a necessity for me.
9. I had cysts in my breasts for over 20 years. After one month on the BTD, I noticed that they had gotten softer. I'm looking for them to be completely gone!
10. More energy.
So, 4 months later, lifestyle change, I feel much more hopeful about the future. I used to have fears about aging, because I felt like I was in my 80s already, so I shuddered to see my 60s and 70s. I now feel that I can age and live an independent life....and live longer than I had expected in the past!! I feel that I'm returning to the energy levels of my earlier years.
For all who are just starting out...I have had some ups and downs, as my body was adjusting and detoxing...and it still is. This community of people have been faithful to hold my hand through them, and I am so grateful. Just hang in there, and you will see results!
Maybe I should have put this under "testimonials?"

I rarely had digestive disturbance. I wonder if I'm really an O?

Well...! These changes took place over the past four months, not within 10 days. I still have the cold/detox (whatever it is), but I know this will pass!
I know...it's been a roller-coaster ride (took you all with me), and I'm still going through it, but I felt that it was good to remind myself and the rest of the folks here, that although we hit the bumps in our journey, that overall, it is the road to recovery and health!
Are these results faster than usual?

Talking about verbal ambiguity...I presume of course, you mean the cysts
I totally agree with that Lola, for me it was 3 days. I'd had a consistent runny nose since I was about 12 or 13 and on the 3rd of BTD my nose stopped running!

So true. Despite some problems I am having, overall I am feeling better as I don't suffer from acid reflux anymore, no more bloated feeling and a few other things. I am sure that if I stick to my Swami the other problems will disappear as well.
This depends on what the starting point was... The more problems you have, the longer it takes for total healing...
I've been making steady progress for about 4 years and many people have started the diet and are doing fantastic while I'm still healing. Unfortunately, I was really sick when I started and have had to heal every system in the body and clean out pesticide and industrial toxins related to work environments and other allergy waste that the body didn't (couldn't) clean out... It has been a long road, with much discomfort, but I'm getting better, slowly...

Kudos for your commitment to sticking with the protocol.
In my case I didn't think I had any problems and then I found out, by experimenting with BTD, I was Wheat/Gluten sensitive. I clearly am more attuned to my body now and can sense reactions to what I eat.

Those pesky reactions... They are what makes us search for the answer, keeps us compliant or gets us back to it...

OK!! I had to read it several times to see what you were seeing, but I changed it!

This sounds wonderful! I'm so happy for you. So have you had periods of detox where you didn't feel as good as other mention they have? Or has it been uphill all the way?
Intense physical exercise is required for good health by Hunters, Explorers, and Gatherers. That is all the Genotypes that you could be.
Explorers particularly get the specific "If you are not sweating, it is not useful exercise." Hunters and Explorers relieve stress and clean up the harmful by-products of stress by intense exercise. Gathers (and Nomads) also have heavy exercise requirements. So you cannot go far wrong by increasing the intensity of your exercise when you know you can.
Congratulations on your success so far and here's to your future health!
