But what about tooth erosion? There have been some small cracks in my mouth during two years. Although I'm secretor (but love unpasteurized sauerkraut)...

I feel f***ed in both ways........ If secretor - no tomatoes, but if I'm nonnie - no white wheat, white potatoes, sugar and some cheeses - double f***ed!   I prefer to be a secretor. With the years my psoriasis symptoms and reactions become many more lesser even when I have ate pork, chicken and other junk foods.

Yes, I would say I was likely to be a nonnie, given my background and how a lot of foods seem to irritate me, typical

This isn't about "which diet do you wish you could follow?" I'd personally love to be an A, to eat a meal of rice and beans and veggies and actually feel satisfied from it! But I'm not- I'm an O nonnie and I need lots of meat and veggies. I enjoy beans but they're more of a "carb" for me than a protein source.

The point of this poll was to figure out how many people could correctly guess their secretor status based on overall sensitivity to environmental factors, how strongly we react to avoids, etc. There's a huge thread "you might be a nonnie if..." (I think I linked to in in the first post of this thread?) where people discussed "typical nonnie tendencies" and I wanted to figure out if those tendencies were a good way to guess secretor status, or if it was often wrong.

Before getting my secretor results, I already knew I couldn't tolerate spelt or oats, making me think I was probably a nonnie. But I also knew I could have been a secretor with gluten issues.

This really isn't about which you'd rather be...  It is about learning what you are so you can eat to:
1) BTD - conform the body to the genes;
2) GTD - change the genetic responses to maintain a healthier body, based on the phenotypic characteristics.

When I started, I needed to replace some 90% of my diet.  It has made a huge difference, so all I can suggest is to "Just Do It!", rather than feeling sorry for yourself...

Vicktoria, if I may chime in (not to be confused with "pile on"),  think about what you're gaining...  the knowledge and tools to change your life. Unhealthy eating habits are a small sacrifice. And as many have previously stated, easy to accommodate as your body rewards you in profound ways.

You'll learn to love the foods that love you back.

I haven't gotten the secretor test yet.  I'd be interested in knowing  what percentage of explorers are nonnies.

My SWAMI diet is a blend of BTD and GTD Explorer, but I'm not totally compliant.  Also I try to choose foods that have a Low Glycemic index.  DW and DD are A+, probably also Explorer.

I just found out this afternoon that I'm a Nonnie - it didn't surprise me at all...when Tom Greenfield confirmed it, my reply was .."I knew I was a Nonnie. Thank you!"

A few weeks ago I stumbled across a thread called "You might be a Nonnie  if..." which was so hilarious because I really related to many of the issues in the posts from other Nonnies. Added to that, Dr. D states that Gatherers are often Nonnies (GTD Pg 128 - Biochemical). And the Gatherer food lists are quite similar to the Nonnie modifications in LR4YT and the Diabetes mini book

I started GTD on 23rd May '13 and have lost 22lbs - everyone who knows me comments on how great I'm looking - and I'm FEELING awesome - energy is up, and grazing on Diamonds and Bennies, wine not outlawed, sleeping really well, BM's much better than pre GTD, blood pressure is down, blood sugar spikes are gone - I have absolutely nothing to complain about, and I don't see being a Nonnie as a disadvantage - in fact, I feel rather SPECIAL...

Sometimes I feel that being a nonnie offers us a clearer window into our wellness status, for better or for worse. Receiving such strong messages promotes (demands) a higher degree of health maintenance that, thankfully, gratefully, is accessable due to Dr. D.'s work.

I couldn't vote because I knew I was a nonnie, didn't order a secretor test, and got SWAMI done for "nonnie" instead. "SWAMI for Nonnie wurkz 4 me!"
