Hey everyone, I tried almonds yesterday. They were natural organic almonds. I only had a small amount but it didn't matter. They caused me great pain. I got joint inflammation and nerve pain in my hands from the almonds.
I can not do any GRAINS without feeling thesame ay but worse. Beans inflame me as well. Dairy makes me crazy! It causes severe anxiety, sinus issues, acne, and asthma. I seem to react to nightshade foods as well: potatoes, cayenne pepper, bellpepper, eggplant, tomatoes, paprika, jalpenos. Anxiety and joint pain.
Do any of you have any thoughts on this? My food is so limited. I eat meat, fish, poultry, fruit, and veggies.
I don't know what explorer, teacher, hunter, ect... means. D I sound like one particular one and if so what does that mean?
Thank you all for your help. |

Hi, I was eatting almond all the time too thinking they where so great for me and i too was feeling awful, with stomache aoins and anxiety...they are great for some that is what I am finsing out is the wonder of this plan. So when I switched the other day to SWAMI which is a more indepth personal version of the GTD which is dr d new book the geno type diet ( you can get at most librarys) it is much more specific funny almonds where an avoid food for me.... I am so glad to have found SWAMI it is a great invention and really made a lot of sense to me. You may want to ck out your library for the geno type book it will probaly help you alot too. I see you are new if I can be of any more help please just ask.
Much luck |

Wow-- never did I think of this..almonds. maybe that is why I have felt irratbale and inflammatory issues.. I really need to get the swami done. I know I am a hunter based on the book, but I did not do the swami yet.
Uniquely made, I am just as you- only veggies, protein, some fruit-- that is my diet, just accept it and go with it. I have learned there is no use in trying to be something were not. I have to avoid dairy, grains and nightshade veggies as well or I feel horrible.
Be true to yourself;)

if almonds turn out being beneficial in your list, try the overnight soak in acidulated water approach......
and if beans or any grains or seeds are beneficial, sprouting is even better when digestive trouble arises. |

uniquelymade, Which of Dr. D's books have you read, so far? He first wrote ER4YT, which laid the foundation for the blood type differences. Then came LR4YT, which included the secretor status, and this was more personalized, with up-to-date food lists. A couple of years ago, he wrote the Genotype book, which takes individualized eating to a new level. And as others have mentioned, the Swami is a computer program that we can access through the BTD store, which creates a diet just for each of us. You can start wherever you are. Many people are still eating from the blood type lists. You can get an idea of which diet (blood type or genotype) you are more closely in need of HERE, by taking a short quiz. |

YES tons, I was very surprised in some ways but it finally made so much sense in other ways, foods i was thinking where beneficial for O's I was eatting and feeling bad, so them I switched to GTD and thought i was hunter so followed that only to find out via SWAMI I was Explorer and then all the toxic foods just made sense...hope this helps. I too hesitated on the SWAMI and am so glad that i finally did it... |

I too have trouble w/ almonds. Usually reflux. It's on my beneficial gatherer list, but I rarely eat them. Also they tend to cause my hemorrhoids to bleed a little, sorry tmi. I tried soaking like lola recommended, but I think I still got reflux. I will wait about 2 weeks b4 attempting to eat it again. I am so limited on my snacks, tomorrow I try the lamb. |

Remember that we are all so unique that a great food for our type may be an allergen for us. Also we change. I find I can't eat as many nuts or beans as I used to. I do better on meats(which means fish & poultry, too), veggies, & fruits. I need fewer carbs, but a little(whole grains, of course), olive oil, etc. Welcome to BTDland! You will have fun & learn a lot. |

you re missing out on all your excellent beneficial hunter grains, check your book.... rice cakes are high glycemic if eaten with no compliant fat to help digest accordingly |

How do you suggest eating a rice cake or cracker with fat? |

learning BTD first makes it easier to understand GENO after.. I think having both as a learning project is best.. as the geno book has less info on certain things worth knowing...and for some illnesses the conditions books are just one more good read, as is the Encyclopedia.. I own them all and more, and all are intertwined in info making more and more sense.. |
| When I see other peoples medicines schedule-I am happy to be here taking care of my health I only wish to drop weight more easily-life would be perfection Being 'here' creates understanding. BTD prevents damage from eating avoids. Thanks Dr D & your sups - all support and friendships |

That is deep. So rice cakes and ghee together are better than separate? This makes so much sense. It explains PT's maxim about eating carbs and meat. It is the fat which is vital. Knowing this is like getting a new beneficial ... |
