I hope i put this in the right place?.
Anyways, I have noticed that maybe as far back as when i started the BTD that i don't get bitten by mosquitos anymore. Recently i have gone on a couple of camping trips and i just had this realization.
Does anyone know why this could be?. Not that i'm complaining!. I thought maybe they don't like my blood anymore, but someone just pointed out to me that they would have to taste my blood in order to know if they don't like it or not.
Any ideas?

Increased consumption of Thiamine(vitamin B1) is also supposed to reduce mosquito biting.
You may be taking supplements containing B1 or eating foods rich in this nutrient, such as, sunflower seeds, brewer's yeast, brazil nuts, or fish |

Sorry i took soo long to get back to you! I have always loved garlic, soo i don't think that is a factor. I try to keep my sugar intake down, i know it is way less than it used to be. But it can be challenging because of have such a bad sweet tooth. I have supplemented here and there with brewer's/nutrional yeast and also b-complex supplements. Soo maybe that is the difference. Before i started the BTD i never supplemented with B vitamins (thiamine). Mickey |

Hi C the D: Just a reminder that essential oil of geranium is an excellent mosquito repellent. Add a drop to some plain sweet almond or other oil, and slather it on before heading out into the swarms... |

Hey, I'm gonna try that. If I recall I liked the smell of geranium oil, too. I popped in to say I think they're biting me less since I've been on the BTD (wasn't on last summer). PS - It is my totally unprofessional understanding that mosquitos are attracted to the carbon dioxide we exhale, it's how they find us. Perhaps there is a secondary odor/flavor that tells them we are yummy or not. I went to Hawaii in the 80's, and I swear the 'suitos thought I was shipped there just for their enjoyment!! I had so many spots I looked like a leopard! But we live in mosquito Central here, and I've been bitten less this summer, so far. Mr. OSuzanna says they still like him the same. |

Oil of Geranium is a very pervasively odiferous essential oil. A little goes a long way. You can extend/dilute a drop of it in a sizeable volume of carrier oil. It works. |

Saverain, I have never tested my PH levels. I just posted a thread about testing for PH levels. From what Isa says the strips are not a reliable way of doing it, is there another accurate way of testing PH levels. O'Susanna, My suggested that the mosquitos might not like somethings i'm wearing; perfume, soap, shampoo, etc... But i am always changing everything i use so i can't think of anything else that could be keeping them away. Mickey |
