Just got this exact model in the mail:

http://housewares.about.com/od/smallappliances/p/soyabella.htm

and tried it out this morning.  I pre-cooked the rice which made the milk creamy and delicious!  Cleanup was nothing.  I just scrubbed the screen a little with the brush they provided and that was it!  The sticky protein mess some people describe just wasn't happening with this model.

Then all's we did was add a little vegi glycerin and stevia (mixture) and it's done.  And it tastes so much better than commercial brands.... I mean seriously better.

I think it was creamier because we precooked the rice as instructed on this site:
  http://housewares.about.com/od/smallappliances/qt/makingricemilk.htm

So there wasn't much pulp or rice paste left over like I've heard others talk about.

This is my first experience making rice milk or any type of milk.  Can't wait to try almond in 4-6 months.  (A Hunter thing).  Soy is out for us.

And one more thing... the rice cost me like 1.15 and I can make about 6 batches of rice milk with that.  Talk about savings!

I paid $99.00 for this particular model.

Off to Happy Hunting!  ha...

Funkymuse, any idea on how well it will make almond milk?

No... haven't tried it yet!  I also liked this model because it is so sleek and nice looking.  The other models look kind of bulky and not very attractive.  But it all depends on what you like in your kitchen.  Me, I'm picky and AR!  ha..     ha ha...

Where did you buy it for that price?

Yes, thanks for the review.  I never hear about this, but I wonder if you might add crushed calcium tablets to your mixture?

My SWAMI diet is a blend of BTD and GTD Explorer, but I'm not totally compliant.  Also I try to choose foods that have a Low Glycemic index.  DW and DD are A+, probably also Explorer.

Wow, thanks for the recommendation funkymuse! I may have to spend part of my tax return on a Soyabella. Sounds like it would make excellent almond milk and also grind grains and seeds too--exactly what my kitchen needs! Price is right too, and you're right--it's much more attractive than the other soy/nut milk makers out there.

Now I want one. Perhaps when I get my own kitchen.
