I have anxiety problems, and all the herbal supplements I've tried only seem to make me worse. So, I'm considering my Dr's offer to try Buspirone, but I don't want to take anything that might work against the BTD. And even though I'm not sure, I think I'm also a warrior genotype, so there's a chance it might build up in my system? I figure the best info I could get on how I might react to this medication would be to go here and ask other ABs, but anyone who wants to share is welcome and appreciated. Thanks! |

BuSpar does stress the liver, which is not helpful from a diet perspective.
It is also interferes with endocrine signalling, but you would be taking it for that effect. |

I presume we're both of da feminine part...aren't we btw. what I observed in nearly more then 25 years of practise... how can a warrior confront anxiety if not while fleeing it meant here is the enneagramm no 5 to 7 or 6/7... if hypothesis of P.D is right that all A's are fun seeking peeps... so I only can consider..no 7 = ESTP/J's... and here lacks justamente the f-side..... to become.... .... whatever but not anxious... so far your problem seems to be found into another edge !!!........ ok that's it for my spontaneous enlighments...meep...meep... .and.. issues of that very moment ..... greetings from Switzerland |

I don't think that any drugs "work against the BTD." The ideal is to not need medication, but that isn't always possible. By eating a diet that doesn't make your mental problems worse, most people are able to manage on smaller doses of drugs than they'd otherwise need, and over time, with healing, many people are able to wean off the meds.
You're not doing yourself or your family members any favors if you ignore a mental health problem- don't let pride get in the way of taking meds that will bring you into balance. However, I still feel that meds should be used only when absolutely necessary. If you've JUST started the BTD, you may want to simply wait a few more weeks and see if the mental health symptoms go away with just the diet changes. However, if you've been on this diet for a while and it's just not doing enough, then meds are sometimes the best option. |

Hi ABnegative, Here's a thread that may be useful in getting some perspective on being an AB. Many people speak of anxiety and apprehension, but it was a watershed moment for me when I realized that my feeling misunderstood was actually not understanding others very well. We talk about being sensitive, but I think that more accurately we tend to be a little more perceptive. A nuanced, but important difference. Hard to square that in an extroverted, reactive world. Just being aware of that helped me alot. A healthy body, I think, also means a lot to ABs emotional health, though I can only speak from my own experience. Toxins and imbalances really took their toll on my ability to comfortably "put it all out there" so to speak. http://www.dadamo.com/cgi-bin/Blah/Blah.pl?b-lr4yt/m-1263512349/s-0/ |
