Professor Sharon is affiliated with the Department of Biological Chemistry at the Weizmann Institute of Science, Israel. Over the past half century, he has authored several seminal works on lectins and glyoconjugates, in addition to acting as the unoffical 'historian' behind the discovery of lectins, their interactions with carbohydrates , and their subsequent use in laboratory research and diagnostics.
With Halina Lis, he is co-author of the authorative textbook 'Lectins', (Kluwer Academic Publsihers) now in its second edition.
