Description

In human genetics, Haplogroup N (LLY22G) is a Y-chromosome haplogroup. This haplogroup appears in Eastern Europe, as well as throughout Russia, northern Scandinavia and Finland.

Haplogroup N is a descendant haplogroup of haplogroup K, and is believed to have first appeared in Siberia thousands of years ago. It was transported across Eurasia by vast movements of Uralic-speaking peoples. Haplogroup N is the ancestral group for N1, N2, and N3.
