How To Use TypeBase

TYPEbase V allows you to research specific food values as they relate to the various systems and publications of Dr. Peter D'Adamo. These include the basic ABO blood group values, presented in Eat Right For Your Type (1996); the addition of the secretor/non-secretor distinction with Live Right for Your Type (2001), and the reorganization into epigenetic archetypes in The GenoType Diet (2007). The basic ABO values have been enhanced and updated with the release of the twentieth anniversary revised edition of Eat Right for Your Type (2017).

GETTING AROUND

The screen always depicts values for the basic ABO types as presented in the 2017 revision of Eat RIght for Your Type. The values displayed are for the ABO secretor subtype (this is the 'default' value to use if you know your ABO type but do not know your secretor status).

Ticking the box labeled 'Show non-secretor values' will display the values for the ABO non-secretor subtype. Click Here to learn more about these refinements to the Blood Type Diet.

Ticking the box labeled 'Show GenoType Diet values' will display the values for the GenoTypes. Click Here to learn more about these refinements to the Blood Type Diet.

Typing in the Search field will autocompelte with matching foods. Click on the food to go to that page.

Clicking the Analysis/ Recipes link will open up a popup window that provides additonal information on the food and any recipes using that food that are in the recipe database. Clicking the Index link will open up a popup window that lists all foods in TypeBase. Clicking the How To link opens up this popup window.

TypeBase V also displays food hierarchies (parent/child relationship) and related foods. Hierarchies display as Derivative of: (the parent food) and Derivatives: (any variation of the parent). For example, 'artichoke flour pasta' is a derivative of 'artichoke', while 'artichoke' has as its derivative 'artichoke flour pasta'. See also: foods are groupings that allow you to explore foods that might be simliar but are not directly related. For example, the entry for 'Walnut Oil' will also show other nut oils. These links are clickable and will take you to the info page for that food.
