Category:
  • Breakfast

Ingredients:
  • 4 cups rolled oats
  • 2 cups nuts - mix your favorites, like almonds, walnuts, cashews and pecans
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar [or use a BTD compliant substitute]
  • 2 Tablespoons flour
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/3 cup honey [or use a BTD compliant substitute]
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 cups diced dried fruits such as pears, apples, apricots, and raisins

How to make it:
  1. Stir the oats and nuts together.
  2. Bake in a large shallow pan in a 350F oven for 15 minutes.
  3. Mix the brown sugar, flour, cinnamon and salt thoroughly.
  4. Combine the honey with vegetable oil and vanilla, mixing well.
  5. When oats and nuts are removed from the oven, stir in the brown sugar and flour mixture.
  6. Blend in the honey mixture, combining thoroughly with the dry mix.
  7. Spread evenly in the shallow pan.
  8. Return to the oven for 10 more minutes, or until golden, stirring once or twice while baking.
  9. Transfer to a large bowl or cool shallow pan and let cool.
  10. Add the dried fruits of your choice.

    Note:
I used melted butter instead of vegetable oil because I like the taste. Other blood types could adapt to taste. Pack the well-cooled granola in airtight containers. Store in the refrigerator for the longest shelf life.

    Please Note:

Cook Right For Your Type is the definitive cookbook for those following the Blood Type Diet. When using any recipe, always check it for avoids and make the appropriate adjustments where necessary. The Blood Type Diet Recipe Database has recently been greatly enhanced. Also, the food lists changed somewhat a few years ago, and all recipes in the database may not reflect those changes in terms of the blood types for which the recipes are recommended.

Volunteer Blood Type Diet Forums Members are working to review and update all the recipes to take advantage of all the new features and food lists. Please be patient until the process has been completed.
