  • Appetizer

Ingredients:
  • 2-3 large sweet potatoes, peeled and sliced 1/2 inch slices
  • water
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/2 inch fresh ginger root, peeled and cut in cubes about the size of corn kernels
  • (I have also used the sweet potatoes mixed with parsnips for a different 'flavor'

How to make it:
  1. Arrange the slices in layers in the bottom of a 1 & 1/2 quart casserole.
  2. Alternate layers with sprinkles of the brown sugar and 1 or 2 chunks of ginger per layer.
  3. Pour about 1/2 cup of water over the whole.
  4. Bake, covered, approximately 1 hour in an oven preheated to 350 degrees.
  5. You can 'overfill' the casserole dish because the ingredients cook down and will not overflow.

    Please Note:

Cook Right For Your Type is the definitive cookbook for those following the Blood Type Diet. When using any recipe, always check it for avoids and make the appropriate adjustments where necessary. The Blood Type Diet Recipe Database has recently been greatly enhanced. Also, the food lists changed somewhat a few years ago, and all recipes in the database may not reflect those changes in terms of the blood types for which the recipes are recommended.

Volunteer Blood Type Diet Forums Members are working to review and update all the recipes to take advantage of all the new features and food lists. Please be patient until the process has been completed.
