I discovered this recipe in Dr. D' Adamo's Eat right 4 your Type book. I have made it a few times in my home, mainly because it is listed in both the Type A and Type O meal planning ideas. It is worth the money and the time to make this dish as it is very good.
Best Used By Blood Types:
- Type A (6 beneficials)
- Type O (4 beneficials)
- 1 large Halibut or whitefish (3 to 4 pounds)
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- 2 Tablespoons olive oil
- 2 large onions chopped and sauteed in olive oil (I use yellow onions as a personal preference)
- 2 to 2 1/2 cups Tahini sauce
- Tahini sauce:
- 1 cup organic tahini
- juice of 3 lemons
- 2 cloves of garlic, crushed
- 2 to 3 teaspoons salt (I use sea salt)
- 1/4 cup dried parsley flakes, or fresh parsley chopped finely
How to make it:
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
- Wash the fish and dry thoroughly. Sprinkle with salt and lemon juice. Let stand for 30 minutes. Drain fish. Brush with oil and place in a baking dish. Bake for 30 minutes.
- Cover with sauteed onions and tahini sauce. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Return to the oven and bake until fish is easily flaked with a fork (about 30 to 40 minutes).
- Serve the fish on a platter and garnish with parsley and lemons wedges.
- Tahini sauce:
- In a bowl, mix tahini with lemon juice, garlic, salt and parsley. Add enough water to make a thick sauce.
