Live Red Onion and Pine Nut Topping


Use this 'Live Food' atop hearty bean soups. Sprinkle on borscht or pasta dishes. Sprinkle over salads.

  • 1 medium red onion, minced
  • 1/2 cup pine nuts, chopped
  • 1/2 cup dried cranberries or raisins, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon canola oil [or olive oil]
  • 1 teaspoon maple syrup [or agave]
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • sea salt to taste
How to make it:
  1. Mix all ingredients.
  2. Refrigerate for 24 hours.
