Flat Molasses Cookies with Margarine

Quick, delicious cookies

Ingredients:
  • 1/2 cup soy based margarine [or ghee]
  • 1 cup molasses
  • 1 egg
  • 1 heaping cup of rye flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3/8 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 cup of instant rolled oats
How to make it:
  1. Melt margarine.
  2. Mix margarine and molasses well; add egg and beat thoroughly.
  3. Sift or mix flour with soda and salt
  4. Stir into butter/molasses mixture
  5. Add rolled oats
  6. Drop from a teaspoon about 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheets, (Use of olive oil instead of grease is preferred)
  7. Bake at 375 degrees for 9 or 10 minutes
  8. Double amounts for larger order
