Pizza Sauce Substitute, modified
Description:
Pizza sauce to use instead of tomato based sauce. This recipe is based on someone else's Pizza Sauce Substitute recipe. I used the base recipe and it didn't go over so well, so I made some changes to it and thought it turned out much better. I found that used this way it adds more flavor and moistness to the pizza.
Ingredients:- 2 teaspoons sugar [non-secretors try agave, etc. or omit]
- 1 teaspoon sea salt
- 2 teaspoons paprika
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- 3 drops anise flavoring
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 2 teaspoons dried parsley
- 2 teaspoons onion powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 cup water
- 2 Tablespoons olive oil
- 2 teaspoons tapioca flour [or BTD compliant substitute such as arrowroot]
How to make it:- Mix the olive oil, tapioca flour and the spices in a sauce pan on medium heat until till thickened.
