'B' Type Halibut

FISH:White Ocean fish main dish or entree.

  • Halibut filet (1 square per person, 3 TBSP olive oil, 1-2 tsp. minced ginger, 1/2 tsp. garlic, 4 medium size sliced portobello mushrooms, 1/2 cup cut up red bell pepper, 1 sliced up (larger head) Mexican green onion or 3 shallots, juice of a meyers lemon. May wish to add a 1/4 tsp ceyenne pepper for a little bit of a kick. Parsley and lemon wedge garnish.
How to make it:
  1. Put olive oil in saute pan with garlic and ginger. Heat until you smell the aromas then add fish. Cook on both sides until tender and turns white white (not transparent white) but not dry. Cover pan between turning if thick halibut. Guessing about 5 minutes on each side for 1 inch thick pieces. Place on an oven safe plate and keep warm in lowest setting in oven only while you add a 1/2 tsp more garlic and ginger, and saute with the other veggie ingredients. Remove plate from oven and top with sauteed mixture. Serve with lemon wedge & parsley. It was heavenly and fresh tasting. Serves 2 or 3. Our side dishes that went well with this was Jasmine rice and red swiss chard. Double check all ingredients for the type B diet as I am a newbie.
