Fall Beef Stew

Ingredients:
  • 2 TBSP olive oil
  • 1 pound organic stew meat - 1 inch cubes
  • 4 TBSP spelt flour
  • 2 cups organic beef broth
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 2 carrots, sliced
  • 2 stalks celery, sliced
  • 2 cups baby portabella mushrooms
  • 2 turnips, cubed
  • 1 to 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 TBSP mixed herbs
How to make it:
  1. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add beef and cook until browned on all sides.
  3. Lower heat and add flour.
  4. Cook and stir for 2 minutes.
  5. Gradually add broth and water and bring to a boil.
  6. Transfer mixture to a crock pot or slow cooker.
  7. Add remaining ingredients and cover.
  8. Cook on low for 8 to 10 hours or high for 4 to 6 hours.
