DESCRIPTION: I have been fighting my weight all my life. I actually followed a vegetarian eating plan for two years but gained weight. I think this was mostly due to the fact that I quit eating meat but never really compensated the lack of meat (all kinds) with another protein. I tended to eat more grains (whole wheat) to fill me up. I also have a terrible sweet tooth (sugarholic) and was also using artificial sweetners. I no longer use the artificial sweetners which I think contributed to my sweet tooth but still crave sugar and carbos. Anyway, I lost 5 pounds the first week on this plan and am a little concerned. Another change I made was to quit jogging and just walk everyday instead. But I am also elated that I actually am taking the weight off. The requirements for a vegetarian diet will not be a problem for me but I just need to get more familiar with all the aspects of the plan.
