RESOLVING TECHNICAL PROBLEMS
Most problems encountered by customers are
simple and relatively easy to fix. This information page will help you resolve
the most common problems encountered when trying to shop on www.4yourtype.com
PROBLEM:
Your shopping cart says that it is empty
when you know that you have added an item to your cart.
CAUSE:
The most common cause of this problem is not
having 'cookies' activated on your browser. A cookie is a small bit of data that
keeps track of your purchases as you move from page to page. If cookies are not
enabled on your browser, the program has no way of remembering what you have
added to your cart.
SOLUTION:
Enable cookies on your browser.
In Internet Explorer:
Click on the 'Tools' menu on the toolbar and
select 'Internet Options.' CLick on the 'Security' tab. Click on the 'Custom
Level' button at the bottom of the menu. Scroll down the list of checkboxes
until you see 'Cookies' and insure that the 'Enable' radio button is checked under
'Enable cookies on the browser.' Click 'OK' to close the screen, and 'OK' again
in the next menu to get out of the Internet Options screen.
In Netscape:
Click on the 'Edit' menu on the toolbar. In the
box on the left, click on 'Advanced' and then make sure that under 'Cookies' the
radio button next to the line which says 'Accept all cookies' is ticked, or do
so if it is not. Click OK at the bottom of the menu to close the dialog box.
PROBLEM:
Your browser displays a 'data encryption
error' when you proceed to checkout
CAUSE:
The most common cause of this problem is
using a browser which has not been updated to 128 bit encryption. This problem
occurs most commonly on computers which access the internet using the Microsoft
Internet Explorer browser (versions 4.0 through 5.1).
Secure websites can be rather finicky about
security. 128-bit encryption (also
known as 'high security') is becoming the de facto security level for most
secure sites. However, some browsers still use the lower security 64-bit
encryption. Using a lower security browser on a high security site will generate
a 'data encryption level'.
SOLUTION:
Windows computers:
There are a few possible
fixes to the problem. Choose the one that is easiest for you.
Option 1. Download the appropriate High
Encryption Pack Upgrade from Microsoft. Install the upgrade, reboot Windows and
revisit the site.
Option 2. Upgrade your Internet Explorer to 5.5
or 6.0. If you are using Windows 2000, upgrading to IE 5.5 will not alter your
level of encryption; you will still need to download the appropriate
High
Encryption Pack from Microsoft.
Option 3. Access the website using Netscape Communicator
4.7. All Netscape browsers after 4.7 use high encryption.
Macintosh computers:
There is currently no Internet Explorer patch
to fix problems with high security sites. The best solution is to boot Netscape
4.7 Communicator (Usually found in the Applications (Mac OS 9) file on your hard
disk.
