Source Organism:
Species:Homo sapiens
Common Nomenclature:Human Membrane Lectins (HKML, HCCML)
Index Nomenclature:LECh.Hom.Sap.Xxxx
Characterization Notes:Human Keratocyte Membrane Lectin (HKML): The expression of HKML was checked upon action of cytokines (IL1 alpha, IL1 beta, IL2 and TNF) which are known as biological response modifiers of keratinocytes. Human Colon Cancer Membrane Lectin (HCCML):
Biological Activity:
Source Tissue:
Specificity:HKML was found to bind synthetic glycoproteins (neoglycoproteins) carrying either alpha-L-fucosyl or alpha-L-rhamnosyl residues. HCCML is an alpha-galactoside-binding protein of molecular weight of 64 kDa that also binds to lactose, maltose and fucose.
