Characterization Notes:Purification and partial characterization of a mitogenic lectin from the latex of Euphorbia marginata. Biochim Biophys Acta. 1993 Aug 20;1158(1):33-9.
Biological Activity:It agglutinated trypsinized human and rabbit erythrocytes, but not sheep erythrocytes. However, sialidase-treated sheep erythrocytes were agglutinated.

Specificity:Euphorbia heterophylla lectin is specifc for N-acetylgalactosamine
Inhibitors:The galactose and galactose containing sugars inhibited the heamagglutination with increased beta-anomeric specificity.
