IFHI 2011 FACULTY: GINGER NASH

Dr. Ginger Nash's career as a Naturopath really began as a historian. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in history from San Diego State University in 1991. The course that most excited her as an undergraduate was a history of medicine course offered by Howard Kushner, PhD. The class challenged the way we, as modern Americans, viewed concepts of health and disease. It was through this introductory course, and subsequent studies, that she first learned about the rich tradition of natural medicine in Europe and the United State and decided to focus her post-graduate study of history in the field of history of medicine.

After beginning her Master's degree in the History of Medicine, she experienced a health crisis firsthand. On the day she was discharged she had the very clear notion to pursue a career in naturopathic medicine. After two years of medical pre-requisites she was off to Portland, Oregon.

After meeting Dr. Peter D'Adamo, Dr. Nash immersed herself in the study of epigenetics and became a Master of the Institute for Human Individuality in 2007. The concept of personalized medicine had always been a cornerstone of her work with homeopathy and now the science of epigenetics dovetailed with that beautifully. Seeing patients along side Dr. D'Adamo has been a tremendous benefit to her understanding of nutrition and individuality.

Dr. Nash taught at the University of Bridgeport's College of Naturopathic Medicine clinic for three years and continues to teach seminars and teleconferences for health care practitioners throughout the U.S. and Canada. She is a sought after speaker and is currently working on a book about hormonal balance for women in all life stages.
