IFHI 2011: DOLCE CONFERENCE CENTER

IFHI 2011 returns to the Norwalk Dolce, site of IFHI 2009. Feedback about the conference center was uniformly positive and very enthusiastic about returning again to this enchanted spot. The food service staff is amazingly accommodating to our unique dietary requirements and the meeting facilities and hotel services are excellent.

Just 45 minutes from New York City, 15 minutes from Stamford and 25 minutes from Westchester County Airport, the Dolce Norwalk offers guests an idyllic retreat nestled on 66 acres of rolling hills, lush meadows, and peaceful woods. Sophisticated, comfortable guest rooms, expansive indoor and outdoor venues, and direct access to the New York metropolitan area makes this hotel a favorite of business and leisure travelers alike.

The Norwalk Dolce was originally St. Mary’s Seminary, but it was generally know as “Ferndale” because of the abundance of ferns growing on the property. Ferndale was a largely self-contained facility where the seminarians were trained to serve as missionaries under difficult conditions that would often require them to perform not only spiritual tasks but practical ones as well. In 1978 the priests sold the seminary to GTE, who used the facility for corporate meetings. The unique design of the Center’s buildings and the carefully planned landscaping of its 66 acres of woods, fields, and ponds combine to provide a rich, complete experience for those who attend programs here at the Dolce Center.
