IFHI 2011 FACULTY: PETER D'ADAMO
Hailed by the renowned glycobiologist Gerhard Uhlenbruck as “one of the most creative scientists in the Western World,” Peter D’Adamo is a true polymath: Physician, author, researcher-educator, composer, software developer and air-cooled engine enthusiast. He is widely considered
as an authority on human polymorphisms and their use in the individualization of nutritional and pharmacological therapy. Institute for Functional Medicine founder Jeffrey Bland has said that “No conscious person can read Peter D'Adamo's writings without considering much more thoughtfully how their genetic inheritance relates to their needs for specific food, lifestyle and environmental factors.”
The author of the New York Times Bestseller Eat Right For Your Type, Dr. D’Adamo also supervises the first clinical rotation in naturopathic personalized medicine at the University of Bridgeport College of Naturopathic Medicine. He is currently developing the world’s first Center of Excellence in Generative Medicine at the University of Bridgeport.
2010 saw the publication of his first textbook, Fundamentals of Generative Medicine (Drum Hill Books). Reviewing the book for Integrative Medicine, A Clinician’s Journal, editor Dr. Joseph Pizzorno called it “The most profound exploration of biochemical individuality ever written.”
