All,
It is my pleasure to report that Saturday night's (June 13)
West Coast ER4YT dinner turned-out to be much more succesful
than anticipated, as more than 50 participants gathered at
"The Rooster" in San Francisco to dine, socialize and discuss
the ER4YT diet.
It had been feared in the two weeks prior to the event
that attendance would be low. In the hopes of increasing
participation, we distributed flyers in health food stores,
alternative health clinics, etc. around San Francisco. Good
thing this was done because the great majority of those in attendance
learned of the event through those flyers (as opposed to the
website postings).
The attendees were seated according to blood type. There
was an O table, A table, etc. By the way, we counted 28 Os,
15 As, 7 Bs, 2 ABs.
After a brilliant albeit surprisingly brief introductory
speech by "Yours Truly", particpants were treated to a
wonderful 3 course meal, specially designed for each blood type.
About half of the people there had not yet begun the diet but
came because they heard about it and wanted more information. Much
of the discussion at the tables revolved around the basics of the diet.
Otherwise, people exchanged experiences, planned future
educational events and pot-lucks and, yes, I heard Ed Reich's
name mentioned more than once!
After dinner about 20 of us went to a local night club where we
continued the conversation, listened to music, danced and
consumed beverages (most on the AVOID list). Later on, 5 people
accompanied me to my home to check-out some herbs that I collected
during a recent trek to Humboldt County. Three of my visitors
actually ended up "crashing" at my place. Hrrmph....probably
more than you wanted to know.
Anyway, this was a great experience. Hope that it encourages
fols in other regions to organize similar affairs. Maybe someday
we can have a national meeting.
