Why Are Certain TEAS "Avoid" And Yet The Herbs Are Okay?

I had previously posted this on the "O" board but thought I might have better luck here, as it applies to all blood types. For example, Golden Seal is an "avoid" as a tea for us, but as an herb (I suppose in capsule) is actually recommended for some illnesses. Obviously, this applies to not only Golden Seal, but in all instances where this is the case. Maybe I just missed it and/or I'm dreaming, but I think this is what I read.
