In Response To: Heavy Metals, Chelation, and Cilantro (Armchair Nutritionist)
I'm happy to have an excuse to eat cilantro (!), but the two articles are somewhat anecdotal (and include use of other components like acupuncture or antibiotics to make treatment more effective) about how the cilantro was acting in the body. When they discuss the heavy metals in urine the abstract does not mention what the baseline levels were, or the levels under treatment, or if the metals in the urine were actually in chelated form when excreted or not. The cilantro may be doing something different in mechanism, as it was not clear. Very interesting!
