Metformin/Glyburide
Posted By: donna Date: July-25, 1998 at 04:05:03
For those of us who are hyperinsulin-- does anyone have thoughts on the use of Metformin (generic is glyburide I *think*) to aid weight loss by controlling insulin? Don't have diabetes, but am curious-- thanks. FYI I've read that unlike other medication for diabetics, it tends if anything to cause weight loss rather than gain, purportedly makes cells more insulin-sensitive without increasing the amount of insulin, unlike others.
