What am I doing wrong, or is the search engine in need of a tune-up?

I was trying to find a post that I previously read that had many links to other sites.
The only things I remembered were "Ship's Library" am
nd "OJoan". Even after a long search, neither of these clues turned up the post. I then spent ages scrolling through all of the boards to find what I needed, and, lo and behold, the clues were right all along. At least it should have responded to "library", if not "ship's library", but it didn't.
This has happened quite a bit.
