Great! Thanks for this, Joan. Peterson gives a similar huge range, which I begin to think means "where it CAN grow" rather than "where it DOES grow." Two to three years doesn't seem long (think of fruit-bearing trees - heck, vineyards!) if the plants would survive a rotating, partial harvest of the roots, or even rotating full harvest. There are similar methods used for wild-harvest food. Hmph. Thanks again, I'm going to pursue this. Not that potato farmers everywhere are shaking in their furrows! ;-D (yet...)
