Peanuts?

In Response To: Groundnut, anyone? (heidi)
When I was in Liberia in the Peace Corps in the early 70's, the Liberians called what I would have called peanuts "groundnuts." "Native Harvests--Recipes and botanicals of the American Indian" has a recipe calling for groundnut (Apios americana) or hog peanut (Amphicarpaea bracteata). Therefore, I THINK groundnuts are very similar to peanuts.
