In Response To: Does anyone know if this is true? (Barbara O.)
Hi Barbara! I didn't know, but a hop over to PubMed (link below) and the keywords adolescent diabetes cow milk turned up 24 references on this topic. Apparently adolescent diabetics have a higher incidence of antibodies to cow's milk (probably to its BSA, bovine serum albumin) and were more likely to have had some cow's milk in infancy. It doesn't get around genetic predisposition, but it sure fits the ER4YT principle of tailoring one's diet to one's own immune system. With warm regard, Joan
