To refresh, I have always been somewhat of a medical mystery - unexplained miscarriages after two healthy children, strange breast lumps (not fibrocystic), rare kidney stone, and more. I am 31 and decided to take charge of my medical situation since no medical doctor could give me any answers. Researched amalgam removal, and had that completed in February of this year. Here's the update -
I am a new person! Haven't been sick since then - not one single cold. But the biggest change is in my personality. By the end of Feb., my husband started making comments, but it wasn't until mid-March that we put two and two together. I am no longer hyper, high-strung or obsessive/compulsive. It is amazing. I had no idea this would ever be a result.
I have actually had to readjust, and learn to live "normally". Example - previously I was always worrying, always strung out keeping my amazing mental list current of what all I needed to do today and every day. Now, if I do not make a note, I will forget. I actually went through a very difficult period in late March where I forgot commitments, missed appointments, etc. I was simply laid back and not thinking about it. I was distressed, but have now adjusted and life is fine!
It has been hard for my husband, as having an immaculate super woman wife had it's advantages. Now, I clean the house when it is dirty, and not every day like a maniac. I am nicer to my children. My friends have all made comments and are happier. I cannot believe how great things are now!
I highly recommend this procedure, and wish I had done it much sooner. (I am the poster girl for weenies when it comes to dentists!) The good news is neither of my children has had a cavity yet ( age 9 and 5!), so when they do they will get the composite fillings and will never have to deal with mercury poisoning.
Good luck to those considering this!
Cheri
