As you may know, some pottery glazes have lead which can leach if used with high acid food like lemonade and old 'collectible' Fiestaware from the 1950's can have radioactive uranium. It was discovered that some native American communities had probably goten several of their essential minerals from leachate in earthenware pots made from a favorite clay that was high in limestone. So maybe the caveat is, It Will Leach, so what do you want to ingest.
