Is cholesterol level of 117 too low?

Hello. While I'm not a health professional I do recall reading that: 1) You need cholesterol to live. 2) Your body (i.e. a health person) produces cholesterol and maintains the proper serum amount so if you eat more foods containing it, your body adjusts and produces less, maintain the proper balance. 3) A cholesterol level below 140 may be considered "too low". Please check this out with a health professional. I may be totally wrong - sorry if so. Regards. Pete Reinhard Maybe others on this site will comment?
