Stomach pH vs. System pH

In Response To: Curious about paradoxical results from the diet? (Julia Taylor)
From my reading of ER4YT, the acid forming avoids are to control excessive STOMACH acid. This is different from BLOOD pH, disorders of which can cause system acidosis or alkalosis. For example, as stated in Prescription for Nutritional Healing, Balch & Balch, 2nd ed., p. 87, most fruits (including citrus) and vegetables actually have an alkalinizing effect on the system, while meat is an acid forming food.
