Locate the point exactly midway between your right hip bone and your navel. Dig into it with your fingers and massage the heck out of it for about 15 seconds. If it feels tender, you probably have the right spot. Do this morning and night and a few times during the day. This technique keeps the ileocecal valve functioning properly. Also, if you are doing too much fiber the ileocecal valve can become irritated and spasm closed. For a few days, hold off on insoluble fiber, cook your vegetables, avoid cereal, and take a pectin or glucomannan supplement if you feel bound up. My waist used to swell by up to 4 inches every day, which made working out intolerable. Copy this off quick before it disappears. Good luck, Martha
