I cook collards in the microwave all the time. I think I posted a recipe a long time ago.
They will get papery if there is not enough water in with them, so keep a little bit of water in the closed container (I use Corning wear with lids). It's hard to say how long they will take, because ovens vary so much. Start with 8 minutes for a bunch, and check them, and do more if necessary. It would probably be best to have too much water, rather than risk having them cook dry and get papery.
