Hi S.H-G.
KISS has always been my rule, too, but Western civilization is anything but. I don't think our ancestors had to deal with Worcestershire sauce or pizza. I have been experimenting with my food intake for about the past 4 months, having had a change in body chemistry about a year ago... cause unknown, but anyway..I've been through fat free; high protein; Staying Healthy through the Seasons; and auryvedic medicine. This plan makes the most sense, body wise, and I'm able to get immediate feedback, not the usual 3 day lag, when I throw an 'avoid' in my face, even inadvertently. I've been thinking 'cultures', as in, the mid-eastern (Yemen, arabic) diet... lamb, beans, rice etc... flat breads, limited veggies, dried fruits... their food choices are not as wide as ours, but still the menu can be exciting and varied... same with Greek foods, which can be well modified for us B's... olive oil, lamb, lemon, eggplant, (just stay off the tomatoes)...etc. etc. Right now I'm leaning heavily toward grains such as millet and quinoa as well as rice, and beef and fish rather than poultry. Eggs are great, and I'm an egg-a-holic by nature....(so I eat hash browns with my eggs instead of grits, and make omelets rather than fried eggs so I don't need toast. It's a simple trade.) Anyway, keep in touch. This forum is great, because feed back from others is important and support groups are, too.
