Hi Mark. I am a former dancer who has used Pilates for over twenty years. The best aspects of this type of exercise is that it does not stress the body unduly and, if followed fairly regularly, it keeps your body limber. The abdominal muscles are strengthened and takes stress off the back in supporting the body. There are some very good videos (The Method Series) which incorporate pilates as well as yoga.
