Sucralose, a new artificial sweetner. Is it safe?
Posted By: Jim Myers Date: April-02, 1998 at 21:06:42
Has anyone out there got any information on the new sweetner "Sucralose" that was recently approved by the FDA. Is it safer than the pink carcinogen or the blue methyl alcohol depositor? It is supposedly made from sugar by modifiying the chemical makeup replacing some of the atoms with chlorine atoms. Supposedly it is more stable and able to be used in cooking. A quote from its' makers "The enzymes in your digestive system do not recognize the molecule as a sugar" By the way what does it taste like? i.e. Does your tounge recognize it as a sugar? Does anyone have the skinny on this stuff?
