Last week, the University of Florida released a report (see the link below) linking kidney stone formation to the lack of a beneficial intestinal bacteria called Oxalobacter formigenes. Overuse of antibiotics appears to be a factor. Animal studies are underway using an enzyme (digestive enzyme?). Perhaps your mother can get into clinical trials or, better yet, learn about any relationship to diet.
