Of course you will feel hungry, and lose weight, and even feel anxious at first on any fast, esp. fasts which do not provide the body with proper nutritional support. My experience and many others' from testimonials is that after the 2nd or 3rd day of fasting, the hunger subsides. No one ever said that while fasting a person would not fell a little deprived, esp. if one normally eats due to emotional discomfort. All of a sudden, now these issues must be dealt with as well...finding other ways to deal with your feelings. That is another positive side effect from fasting. It forces you to reevaluate the reasons you do many things and to find other, hopefully more healthy alternatives. It forces you to be totally conscious of what you are putting into your body and why, and for me, it helped me to learn to choose better.. A person who is not used to depriving himself immediate gratification may indeed feel very anxious on a fast, I am not saying that is you, but it is quite possible for a person to have a negative physiological effect from a fast if he is not totally prepared to deprive himself of a comfort and does not know how to deal with feelings of deprivation.
