Found a great potato substitute?

I was at my local supermarket yesterday and found a strange looking vegetable called. Nane. It looks like a giant potato and tastes like one too! I love potatoes and have found it difficult to avoid them (type O). Does anyone know anything about this vegetable? I have searched the internet and can find nothing about it. Would it be okay to eat or should I avoid this too? I would appreciate any information
