In Response To: SPECIAL DIET FOR ALS ? (Les Pock)

Hi! I do research sort of for a living, and yesterday I was reading about this. I only have one article on ALS, and it's from the Townsend Letter for Doctors and Patients. (of course there are hundreds more, I'm sure, but this is the only one in my data base right now.) The article is extensive, and you should take a look at it. The summary at the bottom is the gist of the article.
Good luck!! Cher

Supplementation with L-leucine, L-isoleucine, and L-valine helped continued strength in arms and legs to be able to keep walking. Oral supplementation with DHEA increased swallowing ability, appetite and well-being over 2 months in ALS patient. TLfDP 137:1375(94)
