They were originally done in a now out-of-print edition by Brian Eno and Peter Schmidt. The idea was to develop a series of "strategies" which could help resolve artistic blocks in the music composition process (Eno) and the Visual Arts (Schmidt). I have since lost the cardset, but got a kick out of writing a PERL script to select a card randomly. They are not predictive, as some people would like to think the Tarot is, but rather a sort of cybernetic "throw of the dice" to shift the creative process. I find them helpful if I am stymied because I am having difficulty shifting focus. Peter
